The Detroit Chapter of Financial Executives International has invited me to speak on the subject of Becoming a Process Driven Enterprise. This talk on Friday, October 16th in Southfield, MI, will introduce several concepts and examples of how enterprises can quickly move up the levels of the capability maturity model, enabling them to save time, money and effort, and win more business.
The key points that will be made in this presentation will be that
- all enterprises need to do many of the same operational things (time off, expense reports, invoice approval, on-boarding new employees, etc.), but they all do them in different ways.
- all enterprises have unique operational requirements which require unique/custom business processes
- SPS Workflow’s SharePoint Workflow Factory can be used to customize off-the-shelf workflows for (1) and develop the unique workflows for (2).
- Payback for workflows can often be measured in a few weeks given the low cost of development.
