Business Process Modeling

SPS Workflow uses many different and synergistic approaches to analyzing and modeling business processes as it helps management determine what processes need improvement, re-engineering or optimization.  These techniques are borrowed from the Unified Model using UML, and Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI) of the Object Management Group.

The Human Component

SPS Workflow uses a consultative and incremental approach in talking with our client stakeholders. Key to this approach is uderstanding the readiness for (or resistance to) process change.  The human component cannot be understated here.  Process automation should be viewed as a way to efficiency and new business opportunities, rather than a means for downsizing.

The Data Component

What is the lifecycle of data in your business processes? Who (or what) initiates it? Who (or what) needs to see it, transform it, integrate it? What reports can be run against it for Business Analytics? This are but a few of the questions that need to be considered during the analysis phase of your business processes.

The Business

What impact will a change in process have on income, profitability, hard or soft costs? Depending on your business language and decision making process, SPS Workflow can express potential returns in any number of terms (ROI, NPV, Payback Period, etc.).
